Ebayers’  Way Out

Recently, when chatting with my clients,they all claimed the

tough business.Previously, the complaints were only from large

wholesalors and distritutors.Now, I always heard the voice from

retailers and ebayers.

“We are going to be killed by Chinese Ebayers” Said by one of

my best clients in US. He used to be a very large wholesalor

and mainly import by containers from China. Due to the

depression, he hasn’t even ordered a 20 feet container since

the beginning of this year. For a long period, he only

concentrated himself on Ebay.

“Sales become very tough since the competitors’ participation”.

He complainted again. I knew who are the competitors he refered

to. The competitors he mentioned are from China directly. In

the early days,pioneer ebayers were all happy because business

was easy for them. They made huge margin in that they knew

English and policy of Ebay well.And English was a large

obstacle for Chinese suppliers.Now some of Chinese suppliers

woke up, the began their business on Ebay also. The same

quality product, but even lower price.They begin to grab the

business from pioneer ebayers.

In this situation, pioneer ebayers must find way out, or they

will be out the circle sooner or later. What’s the best way for

them?

1) To give pressure to Chinese suppliers and push them to cut

down the price again and again?

This is not good way indeed. Suppliers will not give up the

long term business relationship.When you ask them to cut down

the price,althought they felt a little reluctant, they would do

as you required.Howevery,you will never get the same quality

products compared to your previous orders. That’s a big

problem, if the items are inferior, you’ll gain a big amount of

disputes or negative messages from buyers. That’s not good for

you later business.

2)To find other suppliers who can offer you even lower price

with the same quality ?

Sure, you can’t find some by accident.But you cannot always

find such suppliers. It costs too much time and energy.

So what’s the best way out ?

In view of my point, the best way out for ebayers is to do

dropship with honest and reliable Chinese suppliers.Dropship

directly from China will be a polular trend since now on.It has

too many advantegeous.
